PROPOSAL

This project proposes the development of a specialized car vent cleaning tool that adapts the functionality of an electric screwdriver into a compact and ergonomic cleaning device. Designed specifically for the confined geometry of automotive air vents, the product utilizes interchangeable cleaning tips and controlled motorized movement to improve cleaning efficiency, user comfort, and accessibility. The goal is to transform a difficult and time-consuming maintenance task into a simple, effective, and user-friendly experience.

Using an IKEA electrical screwdriver, I was able to analyze the motor and electrical components and reverse engineer them. From there, I created from scratch the original design and orthographic drawings.

  • Easy to manufacture due to simple geometry.

Cons

  • Slightly larger head may limit access in extremely narrow vents.
  • Charging cable may interfere in certain cleaning positions.
  • Additional surface detailing could further reinforce brand identity.

  • Clean surfaces are easy to manufacture and maintain.
